MG Centenary Opening event

May 27, 2023

This is the opening event for celebrating the Centenary of MG. It is the joint event for all the consortium of all MG clubs including the MG Owners Club, the MG Car Club, the Octagon Car Club, the MG T Society and the Early MG Society.

The event is being organised for the consortium by the MG Owners Club and T Register members are more than welcome to attend. It is being held at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon, and there will be four celebratory road runs for MG owners to join to get there. These are

  1. Abingdon to Gaydon, starting at the Miele car park and taking in the test routes used by MG’s Abingdon factory and then through Oxfordshire and Warwickshire and finish at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon. This road run is being organised by the T Register’s Paul Plummer
  2. Longbridge to Gaydon. This run is being organised by the MGCC Midland Centre and will incorporate a route through the original Longbridge works area.
  3. Leicester to Gaydon. This run is being organised by the MGOC and starts from the White Horse Inn at Broughton Astley.
  4. Swindon to Gaydon. This run starts from Arkells Brewery just off the Swindon bypass. It is to the Arkells’ brewing family that the first Raworth bodied MG car was sold.

An event website is being constructed by MGOC and its url will be published here when it is finished. The website will contain ticketing information for both the event itself and for joining the road runs.
