MG90 – An Action-Packed Weekend of Racing!

Another sunny weekend beckoned as we arrived at Silverstone for our landmark event, to celebrate 90 years of MG!

Two days of action, on and off the track, delivered on our promise of a spectacular event, with MGs from all years, Porsches and Ferraris on hand to entertain the crowds.

Saturday:
Race 2. Finishline UK MG Trophy: Cody Hill (AUS).  MG ZR 170.
Race 3. BCV8: Rob Spencer. MGB GT V8.
Race 3. Lackford Engineering MG Midget & Sprite Challenge: Paul Sibley. MG Midget (Overall winner of Race 3)
Race 5. MGCC  ecurie GTS Race 1: Ian Hulett. WSM Sprite Sprint. (1st in Class 2).
Race 7. Peter Best Insurance Challenge. Race 1: Shaun Holmes. MG C GT
Race 7. Cockshoot Cup. Race 1: Jason Simm. MG ZS (Race Winner).
DRIVER OF THE DAY SATURDAY:  Jason Simm.

Sunday:
Race 9. Finishline UK MG Trophy: Colin Robertson.
Race 11. Ecurie GTS – Race 2: Richard Woolmer. Austin Healey Sebring Sprite. (1st in Class 2)
Race 12. Cockshoot Cup – Race2: Gary Wetton MG LE 500 (2nd Overall)
Race 12. PBIC – Race 2: Tom Diment MG ZR 190. (2nd Overall)
Race 13. Motoring Classics Thoroughbred Sportscar Championship: Mark Scott. MGB Roadster (1st Class B).
Race 14. Historic InterMarque Race, inc Fiscar Flyers, T-Types, MGA’s and Iconic 50’s: Jonathan Harmer MG TF Sports (1st T-Type) and winner of the Ron Wickson Trophy.
Race 15. 50 Minute Race for 1 or 2 Drivers: Julia Penfold and Dan Surridge. MG ZR 160. (2nd Overall on Handicap)
DRIVER OF THE DAY SUNDAY: Colin Robertson.

A combination of ideal weather, thrilling racing and off-track entertainment made for the perfect weekend for MG’s 90th year celebration. A big thank you to everyone who played a part in organising MG90. We now have a bit of a break in action trackside, the next round will take place at Donington Park on Sunday 3rd August.
