Rally legend Timo Makinen passes away

The MG Car Club is sorry to hear about the passing of Timo Makinen last night at the age of 79. Timo was one of the ‘Flying Finns’ of rally racing, who set the scene alight in the ’60s and ’70s. One of the highlights of his illustrious racing career was in 1965 when, alongside fellow BMC driver Paddy Hopkirk, he won the Monte Carlo Rally.

Everyone associated with the MG Car Club would like to pass on their deepest sympathy to Timo’s family at this difficult time.
