ZEDFEST 2026

There was an excellent turn-out to ZEDFEST last Sunday – the MGCC’s celebration of 25 years since the press launch of the ZR, ZS. ZT and ZT-T cars organized in partnership with MG Rover Events.  Turnout was strong despite restrictions accessing Stoneleigh Park caused by on-going HS2 construction work and road closures in Stoneleigh Village due to the Women’s Tour of Britain cycling race passing through.  The weather was perfect with warm sunshine, clear skies and a cooling breeze enough to prevent the overwhelming heat of recent weeks.

Over 200 zeds of all shapes, sizes and ages converged on the event.  Of special interest was the Bonneville record breaking ZT-T X-15 car and Craig Cheetham’s ZT, which is the oldest known existing ZT used at the press launch in 2001.  There was also a display of showcase cars.  These were cars that were not only special in their own right, but each had and interesting and unique story behind them.  During the day each was called into the arena giving their owners a chance to tell their stories.

Prizes were handed out for the best examples at the show as follows:

Best MG: Yazmin Rennie (MG ZS 180 – RN04 NBL)

Best Rover: Paul Phillips (Rover 216 Coupe – K123 UJF)

Best ZR: Colin Nicholson (MG ZR 160 – Y704 XOT)

Best ZS: Dave Hunt (MG ZS 180 – GV03 SGZ)

Best ZT: Barry Monk (MG ZT 260 V8 – BW04 RDZ)

Car of the Show: Craig Cheetham (MG ZT 190 – Y928 BJW

Following the success of this year’s ZEDFEST consideration is being given to making this an annual event.
