MG ZS 180 2004

Owner: Sharon Davies

When I was looking for a MGZS it did take a while to find the right one, we knew that I wanted a project ZS to be able to make the car to the spec I wanted, also wanted the chance to save a MG ZS rather than buy one already done, we were looking and the perfect project ZS popped up. With a clean MOT history (no corrosion) which is a must for myself.
I fell in love with my ZS straight away.
I named my MK 2 ZS 180 VERONICA.

She was a non running barn find in which she had spent 5 years, with a broken clutch. She had many electrical issues, poor body work, paint chips, a cracked front window, no clutch and broken gearbox. We paid and had her transported to home without viewing.
Project then began. It took seven months of hard work and plenty of hurdles to cross to get her up and running.  It proved not easy at times, I had a huge smile on my face when she started and burst into life. With a MOT booked her first one in 5 years she passed with no advisories I was so excited that I failed to pay the garage for the MOT and had to return to pay my bill. The excitement was overwhelming.

I have owned my car 2 years now and she is my pride and joy, she has passed 2 MOTs with no advisories. Her name is VERONICA I called her that as it’s Veronica the V6.

She is very well known in the MG world by lots of people by her name, I love to attend the shows each year with her, in 2022 she won 2 pride of ownership awards, which made me very emotional. I love to drive her as she puts a smile on my face no matter what.

More jobs – a full suspension rebuild is next up, we have been gathering up the parts. Also a replacement fuel tank and pump, yearly checks on the underside and keeping her maintained.
