Bought to compliment my Midget 1500, this is a very original Sprite MK2 with a recorded mileage of 27K. It was delivered to Glasgow and is now on a Birmingham non-transferable number so I guess it has been re-registered (someone at DVLA has a warped sense of humour!). My conundrum is how much restoration to do. The engine bay is very scruffy and there are numerous paint blemishes but there is a charm to the ‘oily rag’ nature of the car, so my intentions at present are to do the minimum needed to preserve the car. It does run and drive very well and has excellent panel fit and is totally solid. So far, I’ve fitted period seat belts, pillar mounted mirrors and new tyres (what was on were so old there were no date markings). It’s great fun to drive!
