A letter that was written by the Queen back in 1947 has revealed details about how herself and Prince Philip fell in love whilst driving around in his MG during their courtship.

The two-page note describes how the pair were pursued through the streets of London by Paparazzi in the ‘tiny MG’.

She wrote: “Philip enjoys driving and does it fast! He has his own tiny MG which he is very proud of – he has taken me about in it, once up to London, which was great fun, only it was like sitting on the road, and the wheels are almost as high as one’s head. On that one and only occasion we were chased by a photographer which was disappointing.”

Along with a variety of other items, the note will be put under the hammer at Chippenham Auction Rooms in Wiltshire on 23rd April. To read more on the story, CLICK HERE.
