MGLive! returns to Silverstone for 2020
The MG Car Club is excited to announce the provisional dates for MGLive! 2020 as Saturday 13th June – Sunday 14th June 2020 at Silverstone Circuit.
The event will be packed full of exciting features to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the MG Car Club, the original club for MG enthusiasts.
The MG Car Club has run events at Silverstone since 1951, so the Northamptonshire based circuit has been a key part of our club’s history for nearly seventy years. Therefore, it is only fitting that we should return to commemorate the incredible milestone of the 90th year since the club’s formation.
As well as the club celebrations, there will also be features to mark the 25th birthday of our beloved MGF. There will also be the return of the MG Car Club Autotest as members compete for the coveted California Cup, as well as a packed weekend of racing action on-track, live music, trade show, Autojumble, entertainment arena and interviews with key figures from the club’s history.
The MG Car Club also welcomes MG Motor UK, who join us to support the event with displays of the latest MG models, including the latest electric cars wearing the octagon badge.
Adam Sloman, General Manager of the MG Car Club said,
“We understand that there will be some concerns from our loyal members following the difficulties with track surfacing at Silverstone last Summer and the subsequent resurfacing this Summer that lead to the cancellation of our 2019 event. We’d like to assure everyone that we found ourselves in an unprecedented situation then – that is now resolved. The management at Silverstone have been incredibly helpful and have bent over backwards to ensure we have the certainty we need to deliver a truly memorable MGLive! event next year. The benefit has been that the break has given us a chance to re-group and work on some exciting new features for the 2020 event that MG fans won’t want to miss!”

We were extremely sorry for the cancellation caused by the essential resurfacing work last year, so it’s great to see MGLive! return. Silverstone will be doing all we can to ensure that the MG Car Club have all they need to ensure a fantastic MGLive! befitting of their 90th anniversary.”
