Important travel information for Snetterton this weekend

3rd October 2013

MGCC Snetterton 2013

THE final race meeting of the year is now only two days away.

The action-packed weekend features seven MGCC Championships and Series, with both Morgan and Porsche joining us once again, and culminates with our annual end of season relay race.

The timetable for the weekend can be found here

As always spectators are welcome to join us, with day and weekend  tickets available here from just £10 in advance. This is a fantastic opportunity to see some thrilling race action and catch up with other like-minded MG enthusiasts.

Unfortunately, there are some travel disruptions over this weekend which will affect both racers and spectators. Please read the following:

“Please be aware that the Department of Transport have chosen this coming weekend to commence the long overdue task of upgrading the A11 to dual carriageway between Mildenhall and Thetford! This will include complete closure of sections of the road and WILL affect you if you plan to use the A11 to get to/from Snetterton.

Please click here for a PDF detailing the specific closures and diversions.

The Fiveways roundabout at Mildenhall will be closed from circa 10 pm. on Friday 4th until 6 am. Monday 7th October.

Those travelling up on Friday afternoon should be ok, but may encounter some delays. Anybody traveling back on Saturday or Sunday should be ok as the Southbound A11 will not be closed.

A map showing the diversions can be found on page 4 of the attached PDF document. (Weekend 1 Diversions).

There appears to be 2 choices, stay on the A14 from Junction 38 and follow the route marked in black to re-join the A11 just beyond Thetford. The second choice is to follow the Blue diversion route through Mildenhall itself. A shorter option, but you may encounter more traffic.

Perhaps those of you who use Twitter/ Facebook would like to tweet their findings as they travel up to aid anybody following.

Good Luck! I look forward to seeing you at the Circuit…”
