Safety Fast July 1974

AS WE mark the 90th anniversary of MG we once again look back to 1974 when MG and the MG Car Club celebrated 50 years of MG motoring.

The front cover of the July 1974 issue features Nigel Musselwhite in his EX120 replica at Silverstone.

Inside the magazine, the feature article this issue is a report from the Silverstone Festival with the following extract:

“ Silverstone seems to get bigger every year and this year saw the biggest turnout of cars and members yet. The lines of tents and caravans in the car park on the Saturday night stretched almost all the way to Copse, and the vast overseas contingent, especially from Holland and Germany, and including some from the other side of the Atlantic, gave Silverstone am international flavour normally reserved for the GrandPrix.”

Forty years later it is very uplifting to report that the Club’s annual festival at Silverstone still continues to grow and every year we still welcome visitors from across the globe.
