Safety Fast April 1974

AS WE mark the 90th anniversary of MG we once again look back to 1974 when MG and the MG Car Club celebrated 50 years of MG motoring.

Has there ever been such a glamorous Safety Fast! front cover than that of April of 1974? Simply titled ‘Joys of the open road’ all we know of this photo is it was submitted from the MGCC of Sweden.

Inside the magazine MGCC member John Larmine created an article detailing how he converted his 1966 mkII Midget into a GT. In Larmine’s words: ” A real Grand Touring car is one good for long journeys at speed in comfort”.
