A LATE entry for the calendar, but a popular event nonetheless, the MGB Register Maintenance and Rolling Road Weekend is taking place on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd November.

The 2014 Maintenance day will be held at British Motor Heritage at Witney, Oxfordshire, postcode: OX29 0YB. This is where MG replacement parts are manufactured using some of the original factory tools.

There is a change in format this year, giving members the opportunity to choose from a list of options, listed on the second page of the entry form. This can be viewed and downloaded here.

As well as a guide to basic servicing of an MGB, ‘practical electrics’ and more advanced topics, visitors can also choose to take part in a tour of the BMH factory and attend a talk by car detailing specialists Autoglym.

Saturday’s event will run from 10am through to 4pm and is limited to just 30 people.

On Sunday Ralph Saunders of Pitstop in Brize Norton, OX18 3QQ has offered to run 10 MGB’s only, on his rolling road, so be quick to book. He will give the owners his thoughts on the efficiency of the engines, he will initially check over the car prior to the test. Ralph has many years of engine tuning experience on the B series engine.

The cost for this will be £25 to be paid on the day direct to Pitstop.

Entry forms can be downloaded here.

This event is organised by the MGB Register and supported by British Motor Heritage & Pitstop.
