MG introduces its first 7-seat SUV, the all-new MGS9 PHEV.

17th March 2026

Combining low running costs and a versatile, well-equipped interior with three rows of seats, the MGS9 PHEV is a competitive new entrant to the large SUV sector, with on-the-road prices ranging from £34,205 to £36,945.

When the extra seats in the third row are folded away, the all-new MGS9 PHEV offers more than 1,000 litres of space for luggage, pets, pushchairs or anything else family life demands. Even with all seven seats being used, there is still a considerable 332 litres of space available.

Using MG’s proven plug-in hybrid technology from the multi-award-winning MG HS, the MGS9 PHEV combines a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with a 24.7kWh battery offering an electric range of up to 62 miles – more than enough for most commutes or daily family duties.

David Allison, MG UK’s Director of Product and Planning, said: “The launch of the MGS9 PHEV represents a significant milestone for MG, marking our entry into the 7-seat SUV segment and further strengthening our position in the large SUV market.

“As a vehicle that is both longer and taller than the MG HS, the all-new MGS9 PHEV delivers enhanced presence and versatility, offering the flexibility of a third row to meet the evolving needs of modern families and lifestyle-driven customers.

“Combining an excellent electric range and strong efficiency with an elevated level of specification and refinement, the all-new MGS9 PHEV continues MG’s commitment to delivering accessible innovation and exceptional value within a highly competitive 7-seat SUV segment.”

As customers have come to expect from MG, the all-new MGS9 PHEV offers a comprehensive level of specification including leather-style upholstery, large panoramic sunroof, heated, ventilated, as well as massaging seats, and tri-zone air conditioning to keep every occupant comfortable.

Safety is a priority for every MG model, and the all-new MGS9 PHEV has already been awarded the top level 5-star rating from Euro NCAP, thanks in part to its extensive use of high-strength steel and up to 16 advanced driver assistance technologies.

The all-new MGS9 PHEV is available to order now ahead of full specification details being announced later this month as the first cars arrive in MG showrooms across the UK.
