Safety Fast August 1974

AS WE mark the 90th anniversary of MG we once again look back to 1974 when MG and the MG Car Club celebrated 50 years of MG motoring.

The August issue features Geoff Coles’ J4 taking part in the Lynwood Concours on the front cover.

Inside the magazine there are features from the Wiscombe Park Hillclimb and the Midlands Tour, which concludes with the following extract which remains as true today as it was forty years ago:

“Marshals
If there were no competitors there would be no motorsport, which would be a pity.

Competitors
If there were no marshals there would be no motorsport and that too would be a pity.

Please do not allow either of the above situations to arise.“
