After the relatively quiet month of June, July followed with two major events on consecutive weekends.  Firstly, the Donington racing rounds over the weekend of 20th/21st July closely followed by MG Saloon Day 2019 at the Shuttleworth Museum on Sunday 28th July.   Please find a full review of both these events in the next Safety Fast.

Moving into August, Monogram Sunday tales place at Burghley House on 18th August.  This event has been publicised quite heavily since the flyers and posters were released at the beginning of May.  We have jointly organised this event with the MGF Register to celebrate the Monogram range of colours which were introduced by MG Rover in 2002.

Initially twenty colour variations were available, with an additional twelve colours following in 2004.  The exterior theme was carried inside the cars too with various trim combinations and technology features creating some truly individual cars.  Between the two registers, we aim to gather a large number of cars from all models and colours to create a really colourful display.

This is a charity event with monies raised donated to The Stroke Association and the Brain Tumour Charity.  Entry into the event is only £5.00 and we have also arranged discounted entry into the house and gardens.  Burghley is one of the largest and grandest houses of the first Elizabethan age.   Visitor facilities include The Orangery Restaurant, gift shop, gardens and walks around the parkland.   The event is open to ALL MGs so come along and enjoy a day out at an exquisite country house.

At the end of the month, the racing championship continues at Oulton Park on Saturday 31st August.  Visit Geoff in the Welcome Suite to sign on for the parade laps.   These can be subject to alteration due to the racing timetable.  The parade laps are free to club members and a perk of your annual membership, so make the most of the opportunity.
