DESCRIPTION:MG CAR CLUB YORKSHIRE CENTRE \nTHE DAFFODIL RUN DOES STEAM \nOpen To All Classic Cars \nSUNDAY 12th APRIL 2026 \nIn Support of Marie Curie Cancer Care. \n  \nThe event will start from: \nFox Valley Retail Park\, Stocksbridge\, signing on is from 9am & cars to leave by 10am. This is so those wishing to catch the 13:00 steam train to Matlock can be at the station in good time. \nPrior to starting the rally there are several outlets to purchase tea or coffee and breakfast rolls within Fox Valley\, there are toilets and washing facilities available in Breirley House which is located on the left following entry to Fox Valley. The route will take in 64 miles of easy driving scenic roads towards the finishing point\, there will also be the oportunity to call in for tea/coffee at the cafe at Tissington Hall on route. \nTissington Hall is a 17th century Jacobean Mansion House in the beautiful village of Tissington\, have a walk round and visit the church\, craft & candle shops. \n  \nFinishing at: \n  \nRowsley South Station which is the main base of all Peak Rail’s operations. On arrival  at Rowsley Station participants will be parked in the reserved area at the far end from the entrance by MGCC marshals. \nSteam trains will run from the station to Matlock at 13:00 & 15:00. Return trains from Matlock are at 13:40 & 15:40. \nIt is anticipated that most participants will use the 13:00 train\, with carriages reserved for us. We have negotated a reduced rate for a Day Rover Ticket (all day return) for £10 per person – normal ticket price is £15 per person\, children travel free. Please indicate on your entry form if you intend using the train to Matlock so we can reserve enough carrage space for Daffodil Run entrants as the station is also open to the public. \nParticipants need to show their route book at the ticket office to obtain this special fare. Taking the 13:00 train will give participants chance to spend some time in Matlock\, a walk through the park (there is a cafe in the park) and then over the bridge turning right into the antiques shopping area is recommended. \nAt any time in the day participants will receive a tea/coffee and scone with butter (included in the enrty fee) from the kiosk on the platform which is reserved for the exclusive use of Daffodil Run entrants. This will alleviate congestion in the cafe however\, hot food is available in the cafe with last orders taken at 3pm\, the cafe will close at 4:30pm. \n  \nEntry fee per car max 2 people: \nMGCC Members: £20.00 Non-Members: £25.00 \nExtra passenger: £5.00 \nEntry fee includes route book\, rally plaque & tea/coffee & scone at The Station Kiosk \nPlus an optional charity donation to Marie Curie Cancer Care \n  \nFood is also available at The Station Cafe for Daffodil Run entrants at cost . \n
