Coast to Coast Run 7th August

There are a few places left on this year’s Coast to Coast run from The Midland Hotel in Morecambe to the Grand Hotel in Seaburn, Sunderland.

The weekend starts with a banquet at the Midland Hotel which is open to residents and non-residents on Friday 7th August,

On the Saturday morning there will be a staggered start from 08:00 to 10:00. Bacon butties and tea/coffee will be available. The morning tea stop is at Kirkstone Pass Inn, lunch at Nent Hall Country House Hotel, Alston and afternoon tea at The Jolly Drovers, Consett.

There will be another banquet at the Grand Hotel, Seaburn on Saturday night.

On the Sunday morning there is a group visit to Beamish Museum returning to the Grand for another evening meal.

The meals and tea stops are optional. The entry fee is just £10 which covers the cost of the rally plaque, A5 binders, paper and ink for the route book. Photographs will be taken of all cars taking part en-route.

The run is limited to 60 cars this year (this is the third year I’ve organised events such as this) so don’t delay in registering.

Note for MG Car Club areas. I am a member of the MGCC. The club want me to do my runs through the Yorkshire area so the run comes under MSA  rules. I organise these runs on my own with no help from anyone else. The MSA accept the run does not need to be run under MSA rules as there is no element of copmpetition. For me to comply with the MSA requirements will double the workload. I have sent the rout books to all traffic police in the counties affected and the are more than happy with the terms and conditions. The other clubs (Midget & Sprite Club, MG Owners Club, MG Octagon Car Club) all activelt promote the event.

Not an MGCC organised event.
