We hope this information will offer you some advice and assistance to ensure you have an enjoyable time at the circuit. Silverstone take their responsibilities seriously to ensure that they address the services and facilities for disabled visitors.
Wheelchair accessible viewing is available throughout the site. The locations of these areas have been carefully considered to give some of the best views of the circuit.
These terraces are solely for the use of disabled persons and in particular wheelchair users, with one friend/carer. In some of these areas there is a seat provided for the accompanying person. On the terrace areas carers are asked to please bring their own folding chair.
For our MGLive! event we have a large number of disabled car parking spaces located in the paddock dinner car park which is in the centre of all the action To park in any disabled car parking space, an orange or blue European disabled badge must be displayed in your vehicle. Please mention you require a central parking pass when booking tickets or call us in advance on 01235 555552.
First Aid and Medical Assistance
Qualified staff and facilities are available on site. Special medical requirements or concerns should be highlighted prior to arrival by calling 08704 588 232. This will allow Silverstone to make arrangements to ensure they provide you with the required level of medical care.
All of Silverstone’s disabled toilets are fitted with RADAR locks to prevent access to any non-disabled persons. Keys are available to purchase on site at £3.50 from the Paddock Shop, Bridge Shop (when they are open) or the Visitor Centre or you can loan a key for £5 returnable deposit.
Located around the perimeter of the circuit are numerous seats/picnic tables that can be accessed easily by those persons using walking aids such as crutches, sticks or walking frames. This is so that those visitors, who find the journey a bit more challenging, can sit down for a break.
All assistance dogs are welcome. It is however not recommended that animals be subjected to loud noises from Motorsport activities. Assistance Dogs are not allowed in the paddock, garages or the pit lane. Please do not leave assistance dogs locked in cars in car parking areas.
Site Layout and Ground Conditions
The site is spread over 850 acres some of which are fields. There are some hard-standing and tarmac areas together with stone paths and metal trackway, but the site can be very difficult to negotiate. The weather can have a massive impact on how easy it is for people to move around the site, please take this into consideration when deciding on what equipment to bring with you.
You can find out more information about the facilities Silverstone have on site by visiting the DisabledGo Website. Unfortunately, the Club will not be able to hire mobility scooters at the event this year.
