MGA Day 7 August 2022

The MGA Register’s national meeting for 2022 will be at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre  Station Road, Quainton, Aylesbury, Bucks HP22 4BY | Tel: 01296 655720

The railway first came to Quainton in 1868 in the form of the Aylesbury & Buckingham Railway.  Stopping passenger services ceased in 1963 with full closure in 1966 leaving just a single line between Aylesbury and Calvert Junction on the Oxford – Bletchley line.
The London Railway Preservation Society, formed in 1962, arrived in 1969 to set up its permanent home.
Excellent facilities including catering, museum, restored carriages, locomotive sheds and even a train ride as many times as you like. Reserved parking area for our cars

Advance booking is not required, just turn up on the day in your MGA and park in our dedicated area free of charge. Members of the Register Committee will be on hand throughout the day to help with your technical questions and your ideas for future events. Our Merchandise stall will be open around lunch time followed by the presentation of the “Car of the Day” award.

The museum operates from 10.30 am on Sundays, Car Club members will qualify for the group rate of £6.00 per person.

The Railway Cafe will cater for all you need on the food and drinks menu, or you may choose to bring a picnic to enjoy next to your car.

The highlight of the day is the steam train ride!  The train runs up and down the track all day long and you can take a journey as many times as you like, whenever you like! The site is officially a steam museum and only has a short running line, about 1/2 mile, so the train goes up and down this length of track twice before stopping at the same platform as where you started. The cost of a ticket is £12.00 for adults, £11.00 for seniors.

Advance tickets for the trains can be booked at https://bucksrailcentre.org/

Please remember that the time slot on your ticket is NOT for a train ride, it is simply your arrival time.
