We start with Saturday attending the long running “Back to Downton” event, in Downton near Salisbury. We will be based for the day at the Sports Ground, Wick Lane Downton SP5 3NF. We do need all MG’s attending, to be parked up no later than 10.30am.

This is a health and safety requirement, so it might be difficult attempting to gain entry after this time. Throughout the day you will have the opportunity to chat and ask question to the many original Downton Engineers in attendance from the 60’s & 70’s. The DEWS Club (Downton Engineering Works Social) have allocated an area for C Register Parking and they will be including all our vehicles in their awards presentation Saturday afternoon, Best Car of the Show, Best Downton Car & Best Car voted by the Public. So you could end up walking away with Trophies both Saturday and Sunday.

The town’s famous Cuckoo Fair is in full swing on Saturday too and the Sports Ground parking give you easy access, with just a short walk through the village lane into the main street, with over 250 craft and other interesting stalls including a well stocked farmer’s produce market to boot. Take a look at their web site. www.cuckoofair.co.uk/ and see for yourself. Plenty of food and drink will be available both at “Back to Downton” with a Barbeque outside and more hot and cold options inside the club house and at various points all day Saturday at the Cuckoo Fair. If you still have any energy after your full day of activities, then please come and join your committee for Dinner at the Legacy Rose & Crown, Salisbury. We will be welcoming one and all, for a three course dinner plus coffee to follow, with a very interesting After Dinner Speaker....?

Sunday from 10am, will be back at the Sports Ground in Downton for the start of the Scenic Road Run in conjunction with the DEWS Club, around the beautiful countryside of Wiltshire, returning back to Downton between 12.30 and 1.30 for a Buffet Lunch in the Club House. The afternoon will be our more traditional gathering with Concours, Pride of Ownership and so on, with Trophy presentations and the Raffle draw to finish the weekend about 4.30pm. We might have one or two other surprises up our sleeves on the day, so you will just have to book and see for yourself.

To avoid disappointment, please complete and return your entry as soon as possible and don’t forget to book your accommodation at the Legacy Rose & Crown, if you need a bed for Saturday night.

All entries back to me, no later than 19th April please......
