The MG Car Club donates to BMMC

The MG Car Club is pleased to announce that £1,250 has been donated to the British Motorsport Marshal’s Club (BMMC).

In 2015, every driver that competed in MG Car Club Racing donated £1 before each race meeting, and the £1,250 is the total sum that was collected from last season.

The British Motorsport Marshal Club are delighted with the donation, which will help towards the discounting of overalls and equipment for the 2016 season. It has also been announced that all 2016 overalls will be embroidered with a unique MG Car Club badge.

The donation was presented to Chris Hobson, Chairman of the BMMC by MG Car Club Chairman Ian Quarrington at the recent Autosport International Race Car Show at the Birmingham NEC.

Ian said: “The MGCC greatly appreciates the support of the marshals, who without them, we would not be able to run meetings at all. The club has long championed the cause for greater appreciation of the marshals’ efforts.”

Becoming a motorsport marshal is very straightforward, qualifications aren’t needed, just a keen interest in motorsport and common sense. For more information, visit the BMMC website at www.marshals.co.uk.

The MG Car Club is pleased to announce that it will be promoting its seven racing championships at the 2016 Autosport International Racing Car Show.

The event, which is taking place at the NEC in Birmingham from Thursday 14th – Sunday 17th January, is a fantastic way of showcasing the benefits of racing with the Club to thousands of visitors across four days.

With a commitment to low-cost entry fees, the MG Car Club gives potential drivers the opportunity of racing across the UK at iconic circuits that include Silverstone Historic GP and Oulton Park in MG Metros, MG ZRs, MG Midgets, and MGBs. In addition, all competitors can achieve race entry discounts by competing in all championship rounds.

For as little as £6,000, a 16-21 year old can compete in a full season with the Club, and follow in the footsteps of stars like Jack Goff – a former MG Trophy driver now racing an MG6 in the BTCC. This includes the price of a car, race preparation, and half price entry fees.

With an amazing history, mentoring from Championship co-ordinators, alongside brilliant paddock atmosphere and camaraderie, MG Car Club racing offers a unique package for drivers looking to kick-start their career in motorsport.

Present on the stand will be MG Trophy Championship 2015 winner John Gil’s MG ZR 160, along with several co-ordinators and drivers from the Club’s seven championships.

MG Car Club Race Competitions Secretary John Hutchison said: “We’re excited to be exhibiting at the Autosport International Racing Car Show this year, and believe it’s a great way of promoting what we offer to a wider audience. We are always looking to attract drivers and show them the value of racing with the Club, compared with more-expensive alternatives.”

Tickets for the show start at £35 in advance for adults, and can be purchased from the show website at www.autosportinternational.com. The MG Car Club will be exhibiting in Hall 7, Stand 7433.
