IT'S AMAZING to think that two thirds of our season is now behind us following our rounds at MG Live! and last weekend at the gorgeous Oulton Park circuit.
We’ve had a number of new drivers appear for the first time at these rounds and they have all been made most welcome with positive comments received.
The MGCC have got the following provisional dates for 2013:-
April 7th Donington Park
May 4/5th Brands Hatch
June 22/23rd Silverstone MG Live!
September 7th Oulton Park
October 5/6th Snetterton.
The club will look to add a 6th race weekend and we look forward to seeing where that will be. Either July, or normally August will be left race free.
Because of the Scottish contingent in our championship we do what we can to add a northern circuit bias to help these drivers and the option is there for me to purchase a double header at Croft or Knockhill again. After the season has finished I’ll ask you to vote again for where you’d like to race in 2013 and see if I can match your response to where we actually go.
From experience, the likelihood is that the chosen MGCC tracks above will be in your top 6 which will leave one more track to agree on.
There are a number of cars for sale in most classes and NOW really is the time to consider buying these cars before they get sold outside the Trophy championship. Please contact me directly if you need advice on sourcing a car for 2013.
Our next round is a single race at Thruxton, the Trophy championship last visited this Hampshire circuit in 2003 so if you want to tick off Thruxton on your racing cv get your entry form in asap. It is very unlikely that we will be revisiting this circuit in the near future so now’s your chance to experience the fastest circuit in the UK.
Our end of season awards presentation evening is on the 17th November at Horwood House (near Milton Keynes) once again. Please put this date in your diary now, more details will be supplied in due course.
