There are a number of ways that you can get involved at MGLive!

MGLive! relies on volunteers every year to put the event together, and some may be surprised to hear this but without their help, the event genuinely would not go ahead.

When someone mentions the word volunteering, what do you think of? Spending a few hours coaching sport on the weekend? Helping out at the local Cub Scouts? What if we told you that certain volunteering can be linked to your hobbies and even your chosen career path – would it then appeal to you?

MGLive! relies on volunteers every year to put the event together, and some may be surprised to hear this but without their help, the event genuinely would not go ahead.

As a Club we are always looking for new volunteers to help in any which way they can. We have a variety of roles on the weekend that range from managing the live arena and working alongside the high-profile acts that perform in there, to co-ordinating the Pride of Ownership and even judging the competition.

We also have space on the MGLive! committee for people that might have some new ideas, and are able to offer their experience and enthusiasm to improve the event. Roles here can vary from the planning and delivery of the live arena, researching and writing copy for the programme, designing the layout of the main marquee and much more. In the past few years, the Club has also thought about sponsorship for MGLive! – something a lot of our members may be able to help with themselves, or know someone who could be interested.

You might now be asking, well, what’s in it for me? If MGs are your passion, then working with them surely ticks off the enjoyment box. Some of the roles identified above and many others can be a great addition to your CV, especially if you’re a younger MG fan. Each volunteer that commits to a day of volunteering at MGLive! gets a weekend ticket absolutely free, with half a day’s work getting a day ticket. The satisfaction of helping put on the largest MG event in the world is a unique feeling, and if you think you’re able to help the team, however small or large, please contact Adam Sloman (adam@mgcc.co.uk) and Lauran Gallacher (lauran@mgcc.co.uk) at Kimber House. We look forward to hearing from you.
