The MG Car Club is delighted to announce Mark Dolton of the Triple-M Register is the 2016 Member of the Year.

Mark received the award at the Triple-M Register Summer Gathering on Sunday, where 120 people turned out and saw Mark collect the award from Club Director and Vice-Chairman George Wilder.

The Member of the Year award, otherwise known as the Geoff Coles Trophy, is given out to a standout member of the MG Car Club which is decided by the board of directors. Mark has been recognised for his outstanding contribution to the Register and the organisation of the Mary Harris Trophy, which took place at Brands Hatch earlier this year when 25 cars lined up on the grid – one of the highest numbers in recent years.

Mark said: “It was a real surprise and an honour to receive the award yesterday. A huge thank you to all at the MGCC. We have put a lot of effort in, but it’s been great fun and very enjoyable working with so many enthusiastic and supportive people at the MGCC.

“To receive the Geoff Coles Trophy with all my family present too, was wonderful. A real surprise! Geoff and his great cars were an inspiration to my Father when he started racing his J2. I know how proud Dad was yesterday, he has been the real inspiration for me, on and off the track.

“Its been a pleasure to be part of the Triple-M register, Dick and the committee, and so many others have been instrumental in the success over the last few years.”

Everyone at the MG Car Club would like to congratulate Mark on his award.
