The Venue is the Hill Climb Track at Forrestburn. We are holding a Production Car Trial in conjunction with the Monklands Sporting Car Club at Forrestburn. There will be awards for Caledonian Centre MGs over and above any MCC awards, these will be provided by Edinburgh Sports Cars Ltd, Dalkeith.
This very relaxed, non damaging Event will test your skills in car control. Be prepared to wash your car afterwards and bring warm clothing!

The Scammonden Dam hillclimb is held on the private road which runs from the base of the dam, on which the M62 runs, to level with the motorway. It is steep and very twisty. Cars run individually against the clock. The event is a round of the Northern Luffield Speed Championship. Spectators are welcome – there isn’t any charge. The event starts at the socially civilised time of 2pm and usually finishes around tea time. All you need is a car, M.G. Car Club membership card and the £10 entry fee. A passenger helps and is friendlier too. What is a gymkhana ?:- a mixture of both timed and judgement tests around a course marked out by bollards on a grass surface. You will enjoy several attempts at each test with the best scores counting. This is tremendous fun, a good way to learn car control on slippery surfaces. It is also utterly non-damaging to your car—save for a tendency for it to get a bit muddy. Glamis Extravaganza 2010

WITHOUT DOUBTthe Glamis Castle Extravaganza is the premier and most prestigious car show within Scotland. It attracts over 15,000 enthusiastic spectators and regularly exhibits 1500 cars, together with other vehicles, attractions and a huge auto- jumble. The extravaganza takes place within the grounds of one of Scotland’s oldest, most significant and attractive Castles.

Last year, The Caledonian Centre had reserved a site for 70 cars ranging from an evergreen 1929 M Type right the way through to an awesome 2005 MG SV-R. Such was the presentation and quality of our cars, we were awarded the much coveted ‘Best Car Club’ of the show award, out of 40 other well represented clubs.

For 2010, which is our third year, we have negotiated the same superb site overlooking the historic Castle, but enlarged to accommodate 100 MG’s. Yet again, it promises to be the largest gathering of MGs ever assembled within Scotland.
The Glamis Extravaganza is a two day show Saturday and Sunday the 10th and 11th of July, albeit MG entrants can come for both or either. For those wishing the two days, there are lots of accommodation nearby and an excellent free campsite within the Castle grounds. (see Request for Free Voucher on Booking Form)
There is something for everyone at this show, wall to wall cars, assorted vehicles, autojumble, attractions and demonstrations, superb catering, not to mention the Castle and Grounds which are open to the public throughout the weekend, which are well worth a look.
We anticipate a large demand for this superb show and as such reservations will be on a ‘first come’ basis. See the link at the top of this page, showing the ongoing varied and quality entries to date.
An overall concours cup together with rosettes and prizes will be awarded in several categories to the assembled MG’s, together with a free commemorative DVD of this unique event.

MGC DAY 2010 This year for MGC Day we have decided to take a little bit of a gamble and go south. Our chosen location was suggested to me last year by a Car Club member at Bletchley Park, (our MGC Day venue last year). We are pleased to announce it will be Sunday 11th July at Haynes Motor Museum at Sparkford, Yeovil, Somerset, BA22 7LH. Located just off the A303 and 30 minutes from junction 25 of the M5.

The Museum has lots to offers over 400 amazing cars and bikes, 11 huge display halls, the world famous “Red Room”, and an excellent Café and museum shop, just to mention a few of the attractions and facilities available. Haynes are also hosting on the same day, their first ever Haynes Model Motor Show, a day dedicated to model cars from Scalextric to Diecast, so more than enough to keep us all entertained all day. All our normal activities will be going on as well.

Concours, Pride of Ownership etc. Anyone wanting to sell anything MGC related, bring it along and take full advantage o! f our Bring & Buy table. Regalia will be on sale and the committee available for any questions you might have with regards to technical advice, restoration work, tracing history from the register files etc. Haynes have offered us their main display field to park up in for the day and weather permitting we plan to have a lunch time barbecue available for you all to enjoy. The confirmed date for the 'T Party' is Saturday 17th July, and the venue will be Shelsley Walsh hill climb near Great Witley in Worcestershire. The MAC have given us a dedicated area alongside the track to park our 'T types' and to have an enjoyable picnic lunch. The cost per person is £13, a saving of £2 over the normal admission price. This meeting will be a round of the 'Luffield Cars MG Car Club Speed Championship'. We will once again meet up at 'TheHundred House Hotel' near Great Witley prior to travelling on to Shelsley Walsh, which is only 4 miles from the hotel. The objective of the Tour is simple, drive your MG in the company of like minded enthusiasts, on quiet roads in the awesome scenery of the West Highlands. Enjoy a holiday atmosphere by choosing to complete the entire event or, if it is more suitable, join us at one of the daily start points and do as many days as you wish.
The Tour will start on Friday 6th August from the Loch Lomond National Park, and follow the itinerary below. Again we hope to have the opportunity to drive the old ‘Rest and be Thankful’.
The Entry Fee will be £10 per car for the first day and £5 for each subsequent day.
