White Horse Country

Abingdon lies between the Ridgeway and the River Thames. Known as White Horse Country its enchanting landscape is marked by a mysterious pagan past - the very name comes from the oldest chalk figure in Britain dating back to around 1000 BC.

Combine a visit to the MG Car Club with a walk through tranquil countryside to sample waterside pubs or simply browse around an historic market town and museum. There are many archaeological sites, attractive gardens and stately homes. You may already have visited one if you have taken part in some of the Club organised Road Runs or Autotests!

Why not visit The Boundary House Pub and Restaurant, this was formerly Cecil Kimber's home or enjoy a drink at the Magic Midget Pub which is full of memorabilia and has been the starting place of The Old Speckled Hen run on many occasions.

Take your MG on a trip down memory lane by driving the Abingdon Test Routes. These routes were used by the original factory to road test all MG's produced in Abingdon before the installation of the rolling roads.
